AP Stylebook gets updated :: Tweens claim "updates were soooo last week."

Wondering whether website was one or two words? Do you think POS still stands for "piece of s---" as in, "my Ford POS"? Well, the AP has you covered. They've just released their new guidelines for social media (available after the jump). And just in time, too…BRB and LMAO are on their last legs as part of txt-speak vernacular. http://amplify.com/u/6nii

Geek Alert :: Star Wars Pin-Ups from Feng Zhu

Maybe these won't earn a place in history along side Rosie the Riveter, but they're still pretty amazing. And maybe they'll find a home in the annals of fanboys throughout the world. Plenty more after the jump. http://amplify.com/u/5hfc

It's what's inside that counts :: South Park controversy

I realize that any portrayal of the physical representation of the Prophet Muhammad is said to be blasphemous, and in the spirit of religious tolerance, I think that most people would respect that; however, I, for one, have never expected that from Trey Parker and Matt Stone. I'm just wondering if this backlash is because the South Park creators used an image of Muhammad (which they've done before, to no outcry) or if the issue is that they've put the Prophet inside something as unflattering and ridiculous as a bear suit…after all, the physical image of Muhammad, in this instance, would be contained inside the bear suit. Disrespectful? yes. Worthy of violence or death? I don't know…but I'm sure the drug-sniffing Buddha will know the answer. http://amplify.com/u/4wok

A 'morality meter'? Online? From MTV? So wrong, so many ways

This new online app (not sure if there is a mobile version yet) from MTV just concerns the hell out of me. Bravo to MTV for pushing a campaign against cyberbullying, and honestly, I'm not against this "Over the Line" app that ties rather well into that campaign. What concerns me again is that we even feel the need for something like this. Are our children without a moral compass? And if so, I'm pretty sure we can blame the parents for that one. The question then becomes whether or not said parent will accept responsibility for raising cyberdeliquents. The other reason there is cause for concern is that one of the major faults with this application is that the moral judgment is being made by (most likely) a group of your peers…some of whom might have some questionable morals. I could open up a whole can of worms about morals, personal accountability, parental obligations in raising children, etc…but I think that's just a waste of time and who am I to claim moral superiority over another? But seriously, do we need to go this far? I've always felt like the perfect litmus test when dealing with others is "The Golden Rule". Yeah, remember that old gem? "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you." Perhaps MTV should post that on a web page somewhere. http://amplify.com/u/39z4
